Understanding Chiropractic:

Your body is under the control of the brain and nervous system. The nervous system controls and coordinates every single function in your body. Your brain is protected by the skull and the spinal cord is protected by the spinal column. Spinal bones might misalign at any given age disrupting the normal nerve flow to muscles and body organs.

This interruption of normal nerve flow is referred to as a vertebral subluxation. A vertebral subluxation or misalignment is comprised of bones, nerves, muscles and other soft tissues causing the body to malfunction and lose the ability to heal itself.

These misalignments might occur at any given age due to falls, car accidents, bad posture, repetitive movement and stress. It is vital to understand that subluxations can be silent, causing problems long before symptoms occur.

Chiropractors find subluxations, and by performing an adjustment, facilitate a return of normal nerve supply.

Normal nerve supply results in a greater expression of life.

Chiropractic Adjustment:

A specific thrust applied to a vertebra or joint, to correct its malposition. The objective is to increase range of motion, amplify nerve flow and improve function.  A variety of techniques are used to fit the needs of each individual patient.

Techniques Used:

-Thompson

-Activator

-Arthrostim

-Decompression

-Diversified

-Flexion Distraction

The foundation of our overall wellness lifestyle is maintaining healthy posture and good spinal alignment, eating a healthy diet, taking supplements, keeping your weight under control and stress relief.

Three Phases of Chiropractic Treatment

Phase 1: Relief Care

If you are in pain when you come into our office, the first objective is to help you feel better. Depending on the severity of your problem, it is typical to need care 2-3 times per week for 4-12 weeks.

Phase 2: Corrective/Restorative Care

During the corrective care phase, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, thereby helping prevent injury. It is typical to need care 4-8 times per month for 4-12 months, depending on your overall health and the severity of your problem.

Phase 3: Wellness Care

Once your body has fully healed, it is important to come in for periodic adjustments to avoid problems in the future. Usually, this only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor 1-4 times per month, based on your lifestyle and goals.
